Chicago Opens the Nation’s First Solar Powered Plug-in Station
Conveniently brought online just as the IOC made its recent visit to the Windy City, the nation’s first solar powered plug-in station opened in Chicago. While these stations are not quite ready for general consumer use, the Solar Plug-In Stations will be used daily by the City of Chicago Department of Fleet Management to power the city’s electric cars.
Up to this point the whole plug-in industry has been stalling due a chicken or the egg conundrum. Who will buy a plug-in if there are no stations to refill? Why build stations if there are no plug-ins to service? It’s good to see Chicago has taken a bit of initiative to get the ball rolling
